Kenbu is a traditional Japanese dance which primarily involves a Japanese sword (Katana) and is danced to the rhythm of Ginei. Kenbu has its origins in the Sengoku warring era in the 15th century where the samurai created a dance to express songs sung in Ginei utilizing their Katana techniques.

• Q: when samurai play these dances in old days ?

• A:Kenbu was performed to boost morale before a battle. It was first performed on stage about 150 years ago.

• Q: How long you have been doing a samurai dance ?

• A: My debut was when I was three years old. I have a career spanning 31 years.

• Q: when are you playing your samurai performance in Sydney ?
